Community Programs Manager, Arena Stage

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a national center for the production, presentation, development, and study of the American Theater, seeks professional and experienced candidates for its Community Programs Manager position. The Community Programs Manager directs and devises original ensemble-based theater with students in the Voices of Now program, teaches workshops and residencies, provides program management and cultivates partnerships for Community Engagement's community programming.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Director of Education on artistic vision and facilitation of the Voices of Now (VON) program.
Assist in training VON and other teaching artists. Manage Moving Stories program, including leading and/or assisting with teaching residencies as needed.
Cultivate deep relationships with new and existing partners.
Seek out schools, community organizations and agencies for potential partnerships, including for fee-based programming.
Work with Director of Education to design and create lesson plans for CE programs; collaborate with and support Director of Education on teaching artist training.
Develop and manage contracts and proposals with partner organizations; coordinate with Business Office for invoicing and deposits.
Manage earned income budget and marketing budget as needed.
Manage grass-roots marketing for Camp Arena Stage and other CE programs.
Lead and/or assist in teaching, directing and devising with specific Voices of Now ensembles under the direction of the Director of Education.
Lead, teach, assist or facilitate as needed in other CE programs, including community outreach, Camp Arena Stage and the Arena Stage Academy.
Serve as general support for CE's large public events such as the Voices of Now Festival, and other events.
Collaborate with other staff members on planning for the department, attend staff meetings, lesson planning sessions or trainings as needed.

Requirements
BA/BFA/BS in Theater, Theater Education or a related field, or equivalent experience. Successful candidates will have an artistic, education and administrative background, specifically in theater. Candidates must have excellent organizational, logistical, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Experience in artistic collaboration such as directing, choreographing, playwriting, etc. is necessary. Proven ability to create lesson plans, manage program budgets and prioritize multiple projects at one time. 3-5 years of related work experience in theater and education.
