One-Year Full-Time Visiting Professor in Drama, Kenyon College

Gambier, OH

Kenyon College, a highly selective, nationally ranked, liberal arts college in central Ohio, invites applications for a one-year full-time visiting position (with a possibility of renewal) in Drama (emphasis in Acting for the Stage) at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in July 2019. The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of five courses each year, including one section of Introduction to the Theatre, courses in acting, and one or two courses in dramatic literature. This faculty member is expected to direct one of the season’s main stage productions, in lieu of one course, and advise several senior thesis productions. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the performing arts in the context of a liberal arts education. A completed MFA and professional acting experience is required.

To apply, candidates should visit the online application site found at http://careers.kenyon.edu. A complete application will be composed of 1) a cover letter discussing the applicant's research and scholarship undertaken, its relevance to the field or discipline, and prior teaching experience, including ways that issues and practices related to diversity, inclusion, and equity have been or will be included in teaching and advising; 2) a Curriculum Vitae; 3) three (3) letters of recommendation. All application materials must be submitted electronically through Kenyon's employment website.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. Completed applications received by December 15, 2018 deadline will be guaranteed full consideration.
