¿Qué es Dramaturgismo?

En las últimas tres décadas, a través de Estados Unidos y Canadá, el rol del Dramaturgista ha crecido para volverse una figura importante en la creación y desarrollo de obras teatrales.

Los Dramaturgistas contextualizan el mundo de una obra, establecen vínculos entre el texto, el director, los actores y la audiencia, ofrecen oportunidades para escritores e involucran a la comunidad en conversaciones acerca de las obras de teatro y el contexto sociocultural actual.

El Dramaturgista es consejero artístico y literario en el proceso de creación de teatro; antes, durante y después de la puesta en escena. 

Parte de sus tareas consisten en:

• Elaborar y curar el repertorio de una temporada teatral con adaptaciones y obras nuevas.
• Apoyar el proceso del dramaturgo durante el desarrollo de una obra nueva.
• Organizar Mesas de Lectura del libreto en desarrollo.
• Realizar investigaciones sobre el contexto socio-histórico de los libretos para producción.
• Proporcionar al director y los actores el material de investigación sobre el libreto.
• Redactar un registro crítico de los procesos del montaje.
• Incluir el mensaje político de la obra y su relevancia social en el programa publicitario.
• Examinar la respuesta del público ante la puesta en escena.
• Facilitar charlas y debates sobre el trabajo del autor y/o la puesta en escena.
• Fungir como intermediario entre:
  • El Autor de la obra y la puesta en escena
  • Dirección, Diseño, Talento y Producción Teatral
  • La Compañía de Teatro y los miembros de la audiencia
