2018 Dramaturgy Driven Grant recipient

At its 33rd Annual Conference in Toronto, LMDA presented the 2018 Dramaturgy Driven Grant to Kate Langsdorf.

The Dramaturgy Driven Grant awards $1000 annually to support a plan hatched by a dramaturg.

Langsdorf has proposed a project called "The Context" — A Podcast for the Dramaturgy of Everything Awesome.

2018 Elliott Hayes Award Winner and Honorable Mentions

At its 33rd Annual Conference in Toronto, LMDA presented the Elliott Hayes Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dramaturgy to Magda Romanska.

The Elliott Hayes Award recognizes exemplary contributions by dramaturgs in the Americas to the conception, development and production of theatre or to educational projects in dramaturgy. Romanska was honored for launching and editing The Theatre Times worldwide news platform.

LMDA unveils new “Case study and conversation” conference call series

Launching October 16!

 

LMDA’s “Case study and conversation” series is an every-other-month chance to talk shop and trade notes with other dramaturgs on the central concerns and vital issues of the field. This series will provide a chance to connect with peers and practitioners from across the nation. Each call, a dramaturg will share a short, 10-15 minute case study about a recent project, followed by a broader discussion of the field-wide issues raised by that topic. What can we learn from each other, and how can we do what we do better? .

2017 Dramaturgy Driven Grant

The Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA) is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2017 Dramaturgy Driven Grant: Amy Jensen.  This round of grants saw twenty-six applications and the selection process was overseen by LMDA’s Vice President of Grants and Awards, Brad Rothbart.
