MANAGER OF ARTISTIC PARTNERSHIPS
The Manager of Artistic Partnerships is responsible for the stewardship of existing partnerships, coordination of the activities associated with those partnerships, and the cultivation of new partnerships. “Artistic Partnerships” are defined as activities that are outside of 2nd Story’s performance programming, which include education and workplace programming.
Reports to: Artistic Director and Managing Director
Employment Type: Part-time Salaried Position, 28 hours/week
Responsibilities include:
Managing the pipeline for all artistic and external partnershipsSecure new partnerships
Research, identify, and reach out to prospective clients and opportunity areas
Marketing and networking to develop new partnerships
This includes reaching out on behalf of the organization to prospective clients, coordinating marketing and advertising campaigns, and working with the Managing Director to create marketing collateral.
Serves as first and primary point of contact for all potential and possible external partnerships
Working with the Managing Director to create, update, and disseminate For Hire materials (including one-pager/marketing materials, the website, etc.)
Execution of Partnerships
Working closely with the Artistic Director, determine needs for partnership
Craft curricula/agenda/framework for partnership
Coordinate all artists involved in external partnerships
Scheduling all rehearsals, meetings, etc., necessary for executing partnership
Hiring artists and staffing for events/partnerships
Tracking contracts, invoices, and payments for individual artists
Facilitating event success, whether through preparation or direct execution
Working closely with the Artistic Director, assessing the ability of 2nd Story to meet current and future needs of external partners. This includes, but is not limited to:
organizing/managing training and professional development of artists executing partnerships
developing stories/content in anticipation of potential partnerships
Creation and execution of assessment materials to support the organization in the delivery of a successful partnership
Follow up with external partners
Contract, invoice, and payment coordination
Debrief with client: conducting post-mortem, gathering testimonials, etc., as necessary
Coordinating local and national travel for partnership events as needed
Information Management
Database management
Gathering and storage of curricula, agendas, and other content pieces created for partnerships.
Timely and professional maintenance of correspondence
Ambassadorship
Representing the organization in public sphere
As a member of the 2nd Story staff, the Manager of Artistic Programs is expected to attend:
Friday Office hours
Collective Meetings (2-3 per year)
Board meetings as required
Special events for the organization
