Biography
Catherine María Rodríguez is a freelance new play & production dramaturg and producer, with roots in New Orleans and Nicaragua. Starting in fall 2015, Catherine will attend Yale School of Drama as an MFA candidate in Dramaturgy & Dramatic Criticism. Most recently, Catherine worked at Center Stage as the Artistic & Dramaturgy Fellow. While there, she served as production dramaturg for Marley (co-dramaturg, world premiere); One Night in Miami… (East coast premiere); Next to Normal; dance of the holy ghosts; Stones in His Pockets; and Wild with Happy. She was also the facilitator of Center Stage’s Wright-Right-Now, host of the Dramaturgy Open Office Hours Project in Baltimore/DC, and visiting instructor of dramaturgy in the Department of Drama at Catholic University. She is a script evaluator for Sundance Theatre Lab and has worked at Steppenwolf, Borderlands Theatre, the NOLA Project, and Northwestern University (Performance Studies Department, The Graduate School). Among her greatest loves are new plays, Motown, Malbec, and gumbo.

Awards: 2014 Dramaturg Driven Grant, LMDA; 2014 Leadership Institute Fellow, National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures; 2013 Regional Student Dramaturgy Award, LMDA & Kennedy Center; 2013 Dramaturgy Debut Panelist, Association for Theatre in Higher Education.
