Biography
Waylon Lenk is Karuk from the villages of Ka’tim’îin and Taxasúfkara. He is currently a doctoral student at the University of Oregon’s Theatre Department, where his current research involves the sociology of Native theater. As a dramaturg, he most recently worked on the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s first Native play, Off the Rails, as well as that theater’s The Winter’s Tale and Richard II. He is the dramaturg for Yvette Nolan’s translation of Henry IV Part 1 as part of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Play on! project translating Shakespeare’s works into contemporary English. He holds an M.F.A. in Dramaturgy from Stony Brook University, and a B.A. in Theater from Lewis & Clark College.
