I am the Company Dramaturge at Factory Theatre, and am also available to work as a freelance dramaturg.

At Factory, I am responsible for new play development activities, including running our Natural Resources Play Creation group, working with our artistic director to program seasons and developmental partnerships, and participating in strategic planning and grantwriting for the company.

I came to dramaturgy after an abortive career in academic history, and I have a BA in history from the University of Toronto and an MA in the history of science, technology, and medicine from the University of Minnesota. At York University in Toronto I completed my MA in theatre and performance studies.

My dramaturgical training came from apprenticeships: with Michael Lupu and Carla Steen at the Guthrie Theater; with Michael Kinghorn at The Playwrights' Center; with Mark Bly at the Kennedy Center New Play Dramaturgy Intensive; and with Iris Turcott at Factory Theatre.
