Biography
Adam works as a dramaturg, director and playwright. He is the Founding Artistic Director of AlvegoRoot Theatre Company, which celebrates its 10th Season in 2018. AlvegoRoot is a company which develops new plays by Southwestern Ontario playwrights that focus on local stories and issues. Works he has directed for AlvegoRoot include: Sixty-Seven (playwright), Dominion Day, The Cheese Poet (playwright),The Big Lad, The Angel of Long Point (playwright), Running Rude and Colleening (creator/compiler). Adam performed his solo Manor Park from 2011 to 2012.
As a new play dramaturg Adam has recently worked on Aimee Adler's Welcome to Bon Echo (AlvegoRoot) and David Yee's Rochdale (York University).
Adam is an associate artist of Troubadour Theatre Collective where he is co-dramaturg for the Troubadour Playwrights Unit.
Adam studied dramaturgy at York University and is a graduate of Fanshawe's Theatre Arts Acting Program. Currently Adam is adapting James Reaney’s The Boy with an R In His Hand for the stage. Adam also works as an arts journalist, writing on theatre for several publications including Stratford Festival Reviews.
