Biography
I am a theatre artist and performance maker from Charlottetown, PEI, currently based in Vancouver, BC. My theatre practice encompasses directing, producing and performing in solo and collaborative theatre, as well as leading community-based theatre projects. I also create interactive artworks that draw from installation, performance art and social practice. My creative process relies upon methods ranging from physical theatre and movement-based improvisation, to participatory art, conversation and community engagement. Through my work, I seek to transform the everyday through creative acts, to play with how we engage with the familiar and unfamiliar spaces and materials encountered in daily life. My art practice explores ongoing processes of identity formation and belonging that emerge through particular engagement with environment, community and material culture.
I am the producer and co-director of The River Clyde Pageant in New Glasgow, PEI. I am also the co-founder of The Island Fringe Festival in PEI. I recently completed a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts from Simon Fraser University, where I focused on directing and devising with ensembles.
