Born in England, I grew up on the East Coast and have been a West Coast transplant for 26 years—San Francisco is where my creative heart lives. I believe passionately in theatre being the crucible for many different voices and stories. I find theatre to the perfect intersection for all of my interests and skills. Current dramaturgical activities include working as a dramaturg on the inaugural production for an emerging Bay Area playwright's first play. I am also a resident member and dramaturg for Spare Stage--a Bay Area theatre company, focusing on new works and less familiar works by well known playwrights. As an actor, I was recently seen in the SF Playwrights Center 2016 Playoffs--A Short Play Festival. As a playwright, I recently wrote my first play, "Waiting for Van Gogh" which was a critical choice selection for the SF Playwrights Center and received a full production in their 2017 short play festival. Past projects include being an actor/playwright for 3girlstheater production of Reprorights (an SF festival of short works about women's issues and body autonomy). Dramaturgical past work includes Golden Thread's 2015 ReOrient Festival of short plays about the middle east, and several local one-person shows in the Bay Area. I am also a published photographer (but mostly taking photos of my dog and nature landscapes right now); a film buff (especially French film noir, documentaries, and anything by Werner Herzog). Other theatrical activities include reading new, unproduced plays for several Bay Area literary committees, including the Magic and The Playwrights Foundation. I received my MA in Drama from SF State, with a BA in English, and a minor in Women’s Studies, from Virginia Commonwealth University. As always, my beloved acting teacher, Linda Lowry, who taught me so much truth about who I am, will always be a part of my artistic journey.
