Gavin has been at CENTERSTAGE in Baltimore since 2003 (as Resident Dramaturg and more recently as Associate Artistic Director/Director of Dramaturgy), having previously served in similar capacities at Court and Northlight Theatres in Chicago--where he also acted, directed, translated, and helped found the classically based theater ensemble greasy joan & co. Over the past 20 years, he has also taught at The University of Chicago, Barat College, DePaul University, Towson, and now Peabody Institute/Johns Hopkins; been active in ATHE and ASTR; and served as LMDA regional VP for Chicago and the mid-Atlantic regions. He is a member of the LMDA Board (and its University Relations Committee).
